One of the great men of Fort Smith. Incalculable number if hours and dollars he donated to the boys and young men of Fort Smith through the years. He showed boys how to play sports the right way with the right sportsmanship for so many years.
I treasure the two years i played on his Optimists teams and the lifetime of using thoe lessons.

I too was lucky enough to get to play for Mr. Kerwin. I always took time to teach us the correct way to carry ourselves and he always went the extra mile to improve us as players. Later I had the good fortune to get to work at his sporting goods store on Garrison Ave. He will be missed.

My condolences to the family. Mr. Kerwin was a kind man who showed many young boys and girls how to compete in sports while showing good sportsmanship. I had the pleasure of working at his sporting goods store on Garrison Ave. part-time while attending St. Anne's. I learned a lot from him during that time, and will always remember his kindness. May he Rest In Peace.

Coach Kerwin was a huge influence in my life in so many ways. I had the honor of getting to play for him on the Optimist team at the Boys Club in the early 70's. A great coach, man and mentor for thousands of kids over so many decades. I am so thankful my path in life crossed with him. Thank you God for Coach Kerwin.
