Jerry Kimray Obituary

Jerry Max Kimray, 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Celebration of life: 12:30 p.m. Monday, July 1, in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour before. The family would like to express appreciation to the staff of Wesley Woods Healthcare Center of Waco for their loving care the last year. Also, the family would like to express sincere thanks to Carmen and Cindy of Providence Hospice for their devoted and professional care during the last few months of his life. Jerry Max Kimray was born April 23, 1937, in Hobart, Okla., the son of Ruben H. and Jewel Autrey Kimray. He graduated from Lone Wolf High School in Oklahoma in 1955, where he was Class King. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for 10 years. While stationed at Perrin Air Force Base in Denison, he married Margaret Atherholt on Oct. 27, 1963. After leaving the Air Force, Jerry was employed by Bell Helicopter in Hurst where he worked for 37 years before retiring in 2002. During that time, he earned his associate's degree. He worked in the standards and calibrations lab, working on aircraft instrument panels. For many years, Jerry attended and was an elder at North Euless Baptist Church. Jerry was also a 32 degree Mason and a member of the Hurst Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed basketball, fishing and grilling steaks on Sunday after church. He was a devoted Christian who loved to share the word of God everywhere he went. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and baby sister, Geraldine. Survivors: Loving wife, Margie Kimray of Waco; daughters, Sharon Schultz and husband, Jim, of Granbury, Kim Bennett and fiance, Johnny Tindle, of Speegleville; son, Gerald Kimray and wife, Patricia, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Holli Gregory of Hewitt, Jennifer Taylor and husband, Nathan, of Marquette, Mich., Jamie Schultz of Granbury, Jared Bennett of Texas City, Jeffrey Bennett of Waco, Jeremy Kimray of Fort Worth; great-grandchildren, Tarren and Nicholas; brother, Harvey Kimray and wife, Greta, of New Mexico; niece, Cindy Kimray of New Mexico; and nephew, Gene Kimray of Colorado.

We are so sorry to hear of Mr. Kimray's passing. He and Mrs. Kimray lived down te hall from my mother at Waterview and were so gracious to her.
