Jerry was my professor, advisor and mentor. He supported me in starting controversial projects. I loved how smart he was. He was a strong supporter to me, and I will miss him. I wish you were still in my world, Jerry.

Hello Nancy --
Since our move back to Portland from overseas, I have often wondered how you and Jerry are doing. I was sad to learn of his recent death in the newspaper this morning. I know how much you meant to him and he to you -- wonderful partners in life. He was an accomplished, intelligent, vibrant man. I hope the memories and experiences help you during what must be a difficult time.
