A childhood hero who my Mom ran across later in life in Springfield. He told her I could send a card to sign. I just now read his obituary and was deeply moved.

Jerry Lumpe was our former neighbor in Raytown in the 60's... His son name Jerry and Jim while my brother is Jerry and I'm Jim Jones... Our family became very close to his family for years.. I also dedicated 3 different mime shows toward to Jerry
My deepest sympathy to you and the whole family. Jerry is like a "adopted father" to me since my father passed away 1990. For over 50 years Jerry was my very 1st role model that I dreamed to be a MLB ball player like him. I was hoping to be the very 1st Deaf pitcher in the big leagues! Thank you Jerry for being a great role model to all of us!! I love you and will miss you very much! God Bless! From "JJ"
