Dear Aunt Vivian and Family,

My heart reaches out to you and your family at this time. I loved Uncle Jerry, especially, for the warmth and kindness that he shared with everyone around him. He was a favorite Uncle of mine and an inspiration of kindness, compassion, and goodness. We will all miss him dearly! He is a wonderful man who lived an incredible life. I am sorry I was unable to attend any services for Jerry, but I wanted you to know I was thinking of you. I felt it a priviledge to care for him in your home and to receive such a warm reception from your family. You all gave such wonderful care to your husband and father. I know he is happily running all over heaven telling everyone about his special family. May the Lord bless you in the long days ahead with peace and comfort.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Mitchell family. What a great man! I have very fond memories of Bishop Mitchell back in San Bruno, CA. I can still hear his deep, authoritative "judge" voice. I appreciate everything he taught me. I still pattern my interviews with young men preparing to receive the Melchizedek Priesthood after the interview he gave me. He will be missed.
