Jerry piloting in Pensacola

Jerry Piatt, served two tours in Vietnam and flew 640 combat missions. Jerry was a corporal in the infantry until the Marine Corp opened flight school to the enlisted. After qualifying and completing his training he was awarded his wings and commissioned a Lieutenant. I had the privilege of serving with Jerry in Chu lai, but never really got to know him till by chance we met at the St. Louis Center in Chelsea thirty years later. Jerry and i spent many hours talking about the war and life...

Jerry & I were classmates & I extend my deepest condolences to Jerry's family. RIP

R.I.P. Marine. Fair winds and following seas, and long may your big jib draw. Semper Fi from an old Devil Doc (HM2).

I served with Jerry in Vietnam, but only got to know him personally many years later when by chance we met at the St. Louis center outside of Chelsea MI. We commiserated about our time in South East Asia for several years after. It was a real privilege to get to know Jerry Piatt through many years as a good friend and soul mate. Our family will miss him greatly. Semper Fi,
old friend. Bill Price
