Born in San Jose, California, the third child of Joe and Nickey Saiz. Jerry passed away peacefully at Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa, California Friday, December 17, 2010 with his loving family at his side. For the past five months, He fought a courageous battle with cancer. Jerry will be remembered by his four children, James (Trish), Brian, Charlene and Jeremy; Brothers and Sisters Joe (Lorna), Liz (Paul), Debbie (Richard), Darlene (Wayne), and John; He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and Cathy the mother of his two youngest children. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother Jimmy. Jerry was a hard worker, employed by Safeway for 27 years as a produce manager. His last three years were occupied by the enjoyment of retirement. Jerry enjoyed his time reading and his daily strolls through his home town of Petaluma. He loved his peaceful visits to Bodega Bay and was a devoted fan of the 49ers and San Francisco Giants. Jerry will be remembered by friends and family for his wicked wit, joyful laughter, warm smile, the love for his children, fishing and coaching his children's sports. Most of all Charlene and Jeremy will recall their father's unshakable faith in God. Friends are invited to attend funeral services Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 11AM at the ADOBE CREEK FUNERAL HOME, 331 Lakeville Street, Petaluma. Committal services will follow at Tulocay Cemetery, 411 Coombsville Road, Napa. The family prefers memorial contributions in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society.
