JACKSON'S BURKS-WALKER-TIPPIT Obituary

Services for Jerry Ralph Skaggs, 70, of Brownsboro, will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the Rock Hill Baptist Church in Brownsboro with Rev. Robert Welch and Rev. Danny Bristow officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery in Brownsboro.
Jerry was born February 15, 1945 in Tyler to Virginia and Albert Skaggs Jr. and passed away April 17, 2015 in Tyler. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Jerry was a graduate of Brownsboro High School and Henderson County Junior College (now Trinity Valley Community College). He attended Stephen F. Austin State University and was a long time member of Rock Hill Baptist Church. Jerry retired from Carrier Corporation in Tyler after 35 years of service. He loved bird watching was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, the Texas Rangers and the University of Texas Longhorns.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Ann Skaggs of Brownsboro; sons, Byron Skaggs and fiancée, Leslie McMichael of Brownsboro and Jeremy Skaggs and wife Robin of Chandler; brothers, George Skaggs of Chandler and Ronnie Skaggs and wife Arrilla of Kingman, Arizona; sisters, Brenda Maliko and Cindy Smith, both of Tyler; and three grandchildren, Gavin, Dawson and Micah.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday evening, April 20, 2015 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Larry Devinney, Casey Parker, Ken Williams, Junior Cheatham, Robert Chambers, Danny Hardin, Bobby Parker and Larry Robbins. Honorary pallbearers will be George Rawls and Troyse Blackmon.
