I met Jerry and a few other Navy personnel at the local watering hole, The Beachcomber Tavern, in Oxnard CA shortly before they deployed. We shared many stories about service as I am an active duty Coast Guardsman. I told the fellas that we'd definitely have to catch up when they got back from overseas. When the unit came back, his two friends brought in a picture of all of us to the Beachcomber Tavern and I couldn't believe he was gone. I only met Jerry once, but I still think about him...
