Not sure what to say?

The most influential teacher in my educational experience, in a super meaningful civics class and home room. R.I.P. your critical influences are everlasting.

Jerry was a friend for many years. He was a wonderful person. During the latter portion of his career we worked together at CSUN. He had a great view of life. He had a tremendous amount of integrity. A great person. He will be missed by many people.

Ran across this recently. Had mr Van Meter as PE teacher and later for History in’71. Had us write about Bob Dylan and staged a classroom incident and asked us to report on it as witnesses. Never forget those things. Great teacher. RIP

Jerry was my all-time favorite teacher, and I'm happy to be able to say that to his family. He was a great and friendly guy and he left his mark with me. He was my P.E. teacher at Palms Junior High, 1966 through 1969! Last talked to him back in '69. Long ago now..... Would love to connect with his family----

I miss you so much, Dad.

Best Dad ever. Always kind, always fun, always there to share the amazing information catalogued in his mind. I miss you every day, Dad. Love you always.

I had him as a teacher and he was a wonderful person that really had a positive influence on the many students he taught. I'm so sorry to hear that he passed.

R.I.P. Mr. Van Meter...You made a difference in so many lives. Prayers and condolences to your family...

Didn't have him as a teacher but always heard how wonderful he was. The Birmingham Brave community mourns the loss Mr Van Meter
