Jerry Wachter

As an avid reader of the Sun's Sports pages and a longtime Orioles fan, I became aware of Jerry's photographic talents many years ago. I admired his work immensely. Then, ironically, I learned that Jerry was going to marry Joanne, sister to my own sister-in-law's husband, Vince Strohmer. So, in some way I felt a connection to Jerry, although I only met and spoke to him once. To all of Jerry's family...I am a better person having been a friend of Jerry... We go back to the mid 70'S.. my late cousin, Paul Berman, and Jerry were both fellow photograghers, and friends... I used to "tag along" while I was in college, and then after college graduation, I lived in baltimore for a few years... during that time, I got to know Jerry... And we have been friends ever since...close to 30 years........ Marty and Scott... you have not only lost your Dad, but also your best...

Your dad was one helluva photographer...his legacy will last long after we all are dust in the wind.

Very sorry to hear about the loss of your father. My Dad passed away this past Monday, Nov. 7th, and was buried today at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, so I know how hard this is. My thoughts and prayers go to you and your family.
