Not sure what to say?

Jerry was a man of infinite compassion and concern for the well-being all of Mother Earth's inhabitants! I was especially honored when he included me in cherished projects like "New Mexico in Maps" and "The Southwest Institute,"

After more than two decades of knowing Jerry first as my graduate advisor at UNM Geography and then as a friend, I look back and recall his foundational life changing gift-he simply believed in me. He was the first person in my life to do this and there is no greater offering a person can make. This was a game changer, giving my life new meaning and everything I have done since then has been influenced by his way of being. Like many people, I could tell stories of endlessly fun back road...

Jerry was a special friend and we are so thankful and blessed to have had you in our lives. Your beautiful smile and great memories will stay with us forever.

Best memories are with Jerry and Shirley while we three helped high school volunteers prepare themselves to spend their summer (s) as mini-Peace Corps volunteers in Latin America. It was great fun for 7 years!! Needless to say, Amy and Brian were stars in Amigos de Las Americas!

Diane, John, and George Hawley send our heartfelt condolences to Shirley, Amy, Brian for the loss of dearest husband and awesome dad Jerry. We especially miss those CCC (Crazy Christmas Caroling) Events, and the Horn YMCA water-aerobics sessions. It also goes without saying that John's involvement in Jerry's New Mexico in Maps and Southwest Institute projects were professional-career highlights. With love, J&D Hawley

I will miss this man. He was always up for fun and games. Such an infectious smile. This tribute was so beautiful. I thought I would add this picture from our last reunion. From left to right. Larry,Nat, Aunt Roberta, Judy & Jerry
