The richness of the stories he shared made even what I thought to be the simplest of lives seem like an adventure. He told me that one of my ancestors wives was the midwife who " brought him screaming into this world". Wish I could have met him.

It has been five years now. I am still sorting papers and he is still walking in my dreams. Mama has joined him and we have tried to do everything as they wished. He planned better than he knew. Their children have been united throughout and we are proud to be their children.

I had the joy of meeting Jess and Ruth a few years ago. I was invited to their 70th wedding anniversary. I was struck by their love for one another and also by the way they had touched a larger community who cared and loved them deeply.
