Not sure what to say?

I spoke with Jess shortly after I began my genealogy search. I was fascinated and hooked ever since. The richness of the stories he shared made even what I thought to be the simplest of lives seem like an adventure. He told me that one of my ancestors wives was the midwife who " brought him screaming into this world". Wish I could have met him.

It has been five years now. I am still sorting papers and he is still walking in my dreams. Mama has joined him and we have tried to do everything as they wished. He planned better than he knew. Their children have been united throughout and we are proud to be their children.

I guess by now" Jess" my Father whom you were so very close too are now having a wonderful time in Heaven.. If that is true save a place for me as well, you will be missed here on earth.

My parents knew him well and often visited Possum Trot to talk about the old timers. He shared his knowledge and enthusiasm with great warmth.

Thanks for the wonderful times that we have shared together. The memories of those times will be burned into my heart forever. As the sun sets each day I will be reminded that it will rise again tomorrow. Then, with the rising of the sun, so will the memories live again and remind me that the good things in life are eternal. Now, to the family, you are blessed to have had someone who cared so deeply for you. We love you and appreciate your sharing some of the love with us.
Larry...

Was a very loving and caring man. He and his family will always have a special place in my heart.

God Bless you Jess. Your stories are so wonderful, and by writing them, you have shared your knowledge of our ancestors - the McWhorters, Piggs and Roberts families, and the rich history of Kentucky. I promise to keep telling the stories to my children, so they can tell their children, one day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Always loved talking to Jess at the Pigg Reunions. Ruth and all their children have our condolences.

I had the joy of meeting Jess and Ruth a few years ago. I was invited to their 70th wedding anniversary. I was struck by their love for one another and also by the way they had touched a larger community who cared and loved them deeply. I am thankful that I have been invited into the lives of this remarkable family.
