Jesse Austin Burcham

Mr. Jesse Austin Burcham, age 77, of Bostic, died Saturday, August 6, 2005 at Rutherford Hospital.

A native of Huntington, WV, he was a retired plant manager for Broyhill Manufacturing. He was the son of the late Jesse and Clara Elizabeth McComas Burcham. A member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church and was a WWII Marines veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mattie Frye Burcham. Two sons, Steve Burcham, and his wife Lori, of Crouse, and James H. Dula, of Burlington, NC. Three daughters, Nancy Dabney, and her husband Dana, of Chicago, IL, Teresa Meagher and her husband Edward, of Columbia, SC, and Lisa H. Dula of Valdese. One sister, Betty Harlowe of Huntington, WV. Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, August 8, 2005 at Mount Harmony Baptist Church. Rev. Robert Bradley will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Monday, prior to the service, at the church. The body will lie in state during the visitation hour.
