Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. It is so hard to loose your loved ones. My mom past away in August and there isn't a day that goes by, that I don't miss her. We just have to remember they are in a better place and how happy your dad and mom must be to be together again.
Always remember, when someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.
We love you guys,
Keith & Colleen Harryman

I believe Jesse logged more therapy pool miles a week than most people do in their cars. His 1940s US Navy service aside, I believe he was part fish! I mean, I was a quarter century younger and needed a jet ski at full throttle to even hope to keep up with Jesse in the next swim lane.

The only thing he logged more time and effort at was his devotion to his family and community. I'll bet there are very few who donated as many volunteer hours over the decades helping out at the...

Jess was a great friend to my mom, Fern Douglas, for many years. Jess and Bart spent many hours swimming long distances for exercise. Jess kept up with my brother Rick and I after we lost our mom. I miss him already.

What a pleasure it was knowing Jess. He always had a warm smile and was exceedingly patient w/ our mentally ill veterans; he was gentle in his manner and he touched the lives of many.

Dear Janis,
We are very sorry to hear of your loss. Please give your family our love.

I first became acquainted with Jesse when I was serving an internship in Recreation Therapy (UoU)many years ago. I remember his wit, compassion, and sincerity towards our veteran population. He had a great way with people. I'll miss his passing "hello" as he carted veterans to and fro through the VA tunnel systems. He as with many "greatest generation" veterans I feel has made an imprint on me. Thanks for giving your all Jesse to our veterans. Our sincere condolences to the rest of the...

My dearest cousins; Rick, the boys and I remain in prayer for you all. As we read about your daddy today, it was so remarkable to see just what my Uncle Jesse accomplished throughout his life. I am so thankful for the time I was able to spend with him at all the family weddings in the last years. I will always remember my Uncle for the kindness he showed me from the time I was a little girl. With all my love, Marti.

Our Uncle Jesse was a real Renaissance man, he did it all! He was a loving husband, single father, true gentlemen, kind friend, and excelled at his careers. As with everything he did, he went out in style (he was one kool kat). We loved our Uncle Jesse very much, admired him for all the examples he set, and will miss him so very much.

I knew Jesse as a co-worker, volunteer and friend. What a great guy! Good at everything he did...serving the veterans, playing the trumpet, pingpong, tennis and basketball.
