CLEAR LAKE - Dorothy W. Stockdale, 80, died Tuesday (June 13, 2006) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. According to her wishes her body will be cremated.

Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St. in Clear Lake, is in charge of cremation services.

Graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at the Clear Lake Cemetery with Pastor Thomas Healey officiating. Inurnment will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be directed to the Dorothy W. Stockdale Memorial Fund in care of Glen Stockdale, 210 S. Ninth St. Clear Lake, IA 50428.

Dorothy was born on Dec. 9, 1925, in Williams, the daughter of Joseph and Edith Iverson. She was married to Glen W. Stockdale in Webster City on Jan. 28, 1946; to this union a daughter was born.

Dorothy was a full-time loving mother to her daughter. She found time to work part-time at various restaurants in town and worked side by side with Glen in his construction business.

Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, Glen Stockdale, of Clear Lake; daughter, Lori, and her husband, Mark Haaf, of Clear Lake; grandchildren, Pamela (Gene) Engelking, Cody Haaf, John (Marisa) Haaf and Dawn Jenkins; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Joan) Iverson; sisters, Helen Janes and Ruth (Bill) Thomas; sisters-in-law, Helen Stockdale and Gladyce Edel; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister in infancy.
