Jesse H. Elliott, February 27, 1946 – September 13, 2025, passed away peacefully at home in Santa Rosa, California, with his beloved family at his side. He was 79.
Jesse was born in Los Angeles to a movie executive father and homemaker mother. His Grandmother Gladys Walton was a silent movie star. Jesse lived his early years in L.A. and San Diego with a spirit of adventure and he embraced the sports of diving and gymnastics.
Jesse had a strong will, a kind heart and a wonderful, outgoing spirit. Jesse could, and would, strike up a conversation with anyone. He had friends far and wide.
Jesse's wife Joanne, as Jesse would say, changed his life, and their great love was apparent to all. Jesse and Joanne were married for twenty-three years, and together they traveled a great deal; with fantastic journeys to Europe, Mexico, Alaska, New Mexico and Colorado. Jesse had a true affinity for New Mexico he and Joanne lived there for several years.
Jesse worked as a long-distance truck driver, a tattoo artist, and as a drug & alcohol counselor. Jesse was very intelligent and had informed insights into culture, politics, art, crime, and ways of helping people better understand themselves. Jesse was a huge basketball and football, a true fan of the Golden State Warriors and the 49ers. Jesse also loved to play golf, especially with his great friend and father-in-law, Bill.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Joanne Elliott, his sons Jesse Elliott, Robert Elliott, his daughter Teresa Grant, Angel Allison, Karla Smith, and Joanna Smith. Jesse loved being a father and grandfather, survived by his grandchildren, Jessie, Michael, Milano, Sabrina, Kenny, Annabelle, John, his sister Christine, brother James, and Jesse’s many friends that consider him a true brother. Jesse was preceded in-death by his parents Jesse and Mary Jane, his brother Robert, his father and mother-in-law, Bill and Joan, and his Grandson Jacob, Granddaughter Savannah.
Jesse will be remembered by his family and friends as a dynamic, strong, big-hearted man who honored life, family, and the creative spirit in everyone. Jesse will also be remembered for his generosity, his kind and caring presence, for his senses of humor and his great laugh. Jesse Elliott lived life fully and all his family loved ones and friends are richer for knowing him.
