Pittsburg Funeral Chapel - Pittsburg Obituary

With great sadness we share that Jesse James Johnson of Pittsburg, CA suddenly passed away on March 9th 2024. He is survived by: Mother - Kathleen, Father - Clint, Son - Keith, Daughter - Amber, Siblings - Nichole, Chris, Steven, Ricky, Keith, and Christina, and many Aunts/ Uncles, Nieces/Nephews. Predeceased by: Brother - Craiger, Niece - Gabriella, Nephew - Josue, Cousin - Christopher

May his soul rest in peace with loved ones we so dearly miss while his spirit lives on through us. And may we find peace knowing his soul has found them once again.

Jesse was born January 8th 1987; he had recently celebrated his 37th birthday. While his time with us was cut short - he lives on through the many memories of his family and friends, and through the unconditional love he shared.

As a child, you could usually find him ‘up to no good’ with his siblings exploring the neighborhood, testing their limits, and pulling pranks… all in fun of course. He grew to become quite the handyman and mechanic, often working alongside his Dad. Clint became his best friend, his anchor, his ride or die, who he so greatly admired and appreciated. Jesse was always willing to lend a helping hand; it didn’t matter if it involved getting dirty or working all day and night, or simply keeping you company during tough times. He even taught his little sister Chrissy to drive! His sense of humor and goofiness could brighten the room, while his smile and laughter were contagious.

As mentioned earlier, Jesse is survived by two children. He regretfully didn’t have the chance to reconnect with Amber after many years apart; though he loved her and thought of her often, and wished only the best for her. And Keith, who he loved and enjoyed spending time with, though it was never enough time… bringing him on family camping trips and holidays. Jesse loved reminiscing with family at gatherings. He loved fishing and camping, pulling his nieces and nephews on tubes and letting them drive the boat. He also loved being out with his Dad and his brother Ricky, exploring the roads (or water) on anything he could ride or drive that went fast.

Unfortunately, some things go too fast, like the life of Jesse James Johnson. There will be a viewing on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 10:00am with a funeral service at 11:00am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Burial following at Oak View Memorial Park in Antioch. Flowers can be sent to the Funeral Chapel in advance.

Until then, enjoy yourself little brother. With the utmost love and respect, the McKee family.

Jesse you were a very bright light in a very dark world. I didn't get to spend a lot of time with you but when I did you always made me smile. I was blessed to have been a part of your life's journey and to have you in mine. Rest easy and take care of our babies up there in Heaven. You will truly be missed.
