KIEFER, Jesse James - Of Flint, age 93, died Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Alterra Wynwood of Grand Blanc. Funeral service will be held at 1PM, Saturday, June 9, 2007 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Father Roy Horning officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice or Holy Family Catholic Church Outreach program. Visitation 4-9PM Friday and 11AM Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home. A rosary will be prayed 7PM Friday. Jesse was born in West Bloomfield, Michigan on October 11, 1913, the son of the late Jesse and Rose (Larson) Kiefer and was a resident of the Flint area most of his life. He married Julia Smith on February 4, 1939. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Teamsters Local 332. Mr. Kiefer was employed by Automobile Carriers for 33 years, retiring on November 11, 1978. Surviving are 4 children, David and wife Diane of Flint, Daniel and wife Carman of Grand Blanc, Neil and wife Pam of Davison and Kevin of Ypsilanti; 5 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
