Not sure what to say?

July 26, 09
I knew Jess from the time I was in grade shcool, but it wasn't until after ww2 that we really got to know one another while playing in the City County Band.
Jess was a fun guy, one of my very best friends. To say I'll miss him is an understatement.
I regret that I was out of town at the time of his memorial. My sincere condolences to Betty and family.

I met Jesse as a musician playing in the Seaport Village/Grand Pacific Band. He was a fine musician and sure understood clarinet playing. He loved the music of the 40s and of the Big Bands and I could see the twinkle in his eye, whenever we would play something from that era.

You never had to ask Jesse to lend a hand. He usually figured out what you needed, before you did, and was already en route, to remedy the situation.

Jesse had a great sense of humor, a perpetual...

I remember Mac when I was barely old enough to go on the boat. We used to go down to the yacht club and visit at the sail boat. Mac has always been a rough and tumble, yet kind and generous uncle. Steve and I will always remember him fondly and wish we would have spent more time learning from him about the sea and boats!! We love you Mac! Jon, Steve, and Elaine Colbert.

My first meeting with Jesse was in the City Guard band. We played right next to each other and oh my was he one funny guy! Always made me laugh. Sometimes we'd sit there and laugh about some of the bad sounds we heard during practice. He was a very kind, wise and caring man who was always willing to listen. I will never forget you Jesse.

I first met Jesse in the mid-1950's,we
were playing in a Band,we played in many other Bands over the yrs.We became
good friends,& would have lunch together once a week. I really will miss him.

Mac will be missed. I first met Mac when we were both assigned to work as information operators during a CWA union stike in the mid 60's at Riverside. It was a fun time.

Love to you all - Jesse will be missed.

God's blessings to the Macbeth family on the passing of your dear Jesse.

Poppa, I Love You.
