I attended LCC and graduated in 1978. We began the first girl's basketball team under the support of our #1 FAN, Dr. McDaniel! He was the favorite of our team and bless him, we sure picked on him and gave him a hard but LOVING time. He will be missed and what a legacy of devotion he leaves behind

Although Dr McDaniel came to Franklinton High after I graduated, my mother, Lib Blount, always spoke well of him. As her boss, he was a good administrator and as her friend he was a good man. I am sure Kinston will miss him.

"Bless his heart", Dr McDaniel was indeed a wonderful person. He was LCC's President while I was a student. I truly liked and respected him - he was always approachable and pragmatic with a great sense of humor. My sincere condolences to his family for the loss of such a treasure. Thank you for sharing him with this community.
