Jesse Wuorenmaa Obituary

WUORENMAA, JESSE BENJAMIN, 37, passed away suddenly on March 19, 2013, at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles of a pulmonary embolism.

Jesse was a wonderful person whose legacy is kindness, humor and generosity.

Jesse is survived by his mother and father, Sharon and Richard Wuorenmaa; his sisters, Kristin Holland and Leslie Wuorenmaa; his fraternal twin brother, John Wuorenmaa (Asija Chappel); and his loving girlfriend, Meredith Trailor. Jesse loved animals and leaves behind his rescue dog, Sheba.

Everyone who knew Jesse loved him as a kind, gentle person, who always showed up for friends, family and those in need. A joker, Jesse always had something appropriately funny to say. He loved to cook, was a great swing dancer, adored music, and was a wonderful photographer. He spent many years working in the photography industry, helping people create and preserve their memories. A talented carpenter, he could fix almost anything. His favorite memories were of camping, fishing and being outdoors.

Jesse grew up in Louisville, KY, attended Eastern High School, the University of Kentucky and San Francisco State University. He moved from Louisville to San Francisco in 1995, then to Los Angeles in 2003.

All friends are invited to his memorial service which will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Church of the Epiphany, 914 Old Harrods Creek Road, Louisville, KY, 40223. If you would like to make a donation in his memory please consider a gift to the Kentucky Humane Society http://www.kyhumane.org/ to enhance the quality of life for animals in shelters.

I never had privilege of meeting you Jesse. I do have the privilege of knowing your sister Kristen. As the 10th anniversary of your passing is upon us, I wanted to extend my thanks to Kristen for sharing this page with me about you, Jesse. I believe in the spirit world and because I´m here, now, I believe your spirit is very much present with me at this time. Please continue with all the other angels to watch over and protect us.. Some day, as I believe, our paths will cross and I look forward to that. Peace be with you and your family.... Patrick.

I'm working on an album that you would be proud of. It was our dream to make a Led Zeppelin-esque album when we were 18, and I'm trying to do it. I think you would agree that music is the best thing about our time in life. Love you, brother.
