Jessica provided mentorship and solace to me as my supervisor while I was active duty in the Navy. Her steadfast and firm, yet gentle, leadership will always be with me. She guided me through a very rough time of my life. I am forever indebted to her.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Jessica's loved ones. I only knew her briefly at DLI, but the positive presence she radiated will impact me for a lifetime. Run free and rest in peace, beautiful battle.

Jessica Davenport taught me how to run and by doing so, she taught me so much more than that. She gave me an outlet for my emotions, showed me how to feel free and powerful and demonstrated that stereotypes can always be changed just by one individual's drive and determination. I will always remember her as the runner who looked like a gazelle when she ran...the world never held her down.
