Jessie James Chaney departed this world for his home in Glory on January 6, 2018 at the age of 15. He was born in Hammond, Louisiana and a resident of Denham Springs. Jessie was preceded in death by his grandfather Jimmy Thurston. He is survived by his father, Matthew Chaney and fiancé, Tiffany Tassin; mother, Jamie Robinson Chaney; sister, Lauren Robinson; brothers Jeremiah Ray and Michael Russell; paternal grandparents Sam Chaney and wife, Elisa, and Peggy Thurston; maternal grandmother, Katie Robinson; maternal great-grandparents, James and "Cheeta" Robinson. He is also survived by his uncle, Adam Chaney; aunt, Amber Hughes and husband, Chris; uncle, Matthew Miller; great-aunt, Rena Gunther and husband, Joe; great-uncle, James Robinson; great-aunt, Terri Robinson; great-aunt, Ginger Wade and husband, Jerry; numerous cousins: Olivia Chaney, Hailey and Hunter Hughes; Cammie Sutton; Courtney Richoux; Sophie Gunther; James "JD" Robinson; Gordon and Jordon Wade; and Gavin Durand. Jessie had an unforgettable presence and infectious smile. His gentle spirit and kind heart left marks forever impressed upon the hearts of all who knew him. Jessie loved his family, friends, and life deeply. Because of the hope of glory, the hope that anchors our souls, we look expectantly to the future anticipating the unfolding of Jessie James' impact on the lives of many. His legacy will live on.
Visitation will be held at Christ's Community Church, Denham Springs, on Saturday, January 13, from 10:00 am until service at 12:00 pm. Graveside service will follow at Denham Springs Memorial with community fellowship at Christ Community Church immediately following.
