Though Aunt Elaine was my Aunt by marriage to my Uncle Horace Cheek, I loved her as any blood Aunt or Uncle. She had the sweetest disposition and always made me feel loved. She was an amazing woman of God and a precious mother, grandmother, & great Grandmother and raised her children so well. She was SO beautiful inside & outside. I admired her so much for going back to school, getting her degree and teaching many years. Though we will certainly miss her SO much, it won't be long till...

Cheek family, my heart is with you during this difficult time. I will never forget Aunt Elaine. I was so inspired by her life, especially when I was a child. Her impact as an educator and writer will never end; she inspired me in my own journey in education. I loved reading her poems from the heart and hearing her stories. I'm so sad to have missed these last several years of her life. Praying for peace for you all as you grieve this immeasurable loss.
