Baca's Funeral Chapels - Las Cruces Obituary

On Wednesday, 15 June 2022, our world was silenced and shaken by the passing of MANUEL SOTELO.  Manuel who was also known to his friends as “Guero” or “Guerito”, was born March 9th, 1930, in Chihuahua, Mexico. As a husband, Manuel’s love and dedication was unmatched, as a father his patience and unconditional love were unparalleled and ceaseless. His grandchildren were arrows in his quiver that he cherished and adored to his last days.  Manuel’s patience was his trademark. His integrity, honesty and trustworthiness, along with his respect of others, were traits that earned him the respect of the community and made him a prominent man among his peers.  We know that in our darkest hours you’ll be walking besides us and that we will see you again soon. Gone but not forgotten, we were blessed to have had you in our lives. Heaven was missing a hero!  Vaya con Dios Manuel “Guerito”.  Manuel is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Maria; two sons Manny and Javier; a daughter Beatrice Sotelo Lopez (Jesus); grandsons: Peter, Eric, Edward, Timothy, Tury Junior and Adriel Sotelo, Michael, Kevin and Kristopher Lopez; granddaughters Kathleen, Nikki, Brenda and Angelica Sotelo, Michelle and Kayla Lopez; his eight great grandchildren, Jazlyn, Kenzie, Aiden, Marcus, Audrey, Clarabea, Praise and Isaac. Mr. Sotelo was preceded in death by his parents Apolonio and Epimenia Gonzalez Sotelo; his loving son Arturo “Tury” Sotelo; two brothers and three sisters. Visitation will begin at 6 PM Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. The Funeral Service will be at 10 AM Thursday June 30, 2022 in the same chapel with Pastor Joe Salcido officiating. Concluding Service and Internment will follow at the Anthony Community Cemetery, 750 Acosta Road, Anthony, NM. Serving as casket bearers will be his grandsons, Peter, Erik, Tury Jr., Adriel, Tim and Edward Sotelo, Michael, Kevin and Kris Lopez.
