Jesus Porras

Porras, Jesus, age 72, of Knoxville, native of Harlingen, Texas, son of the late Edmundo and Sara Porras, passed away Friday November 2, 2012. He was a member of The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Jesus was a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1961 to 1966, where he served in the Vietnam Conflict. He was an electrical engineer at the Y12 facility for over 28 years. Jesus is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Vroone Porras; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Elizabeth Porras of Columbia, SC, Darren and Catherine Porras, of Toronto, Canada; granddaughters, Liza Porras, Sarah and Laura Porras; grandson, Bryce Porras; sister and brother-in-law, Maria and Joseph Alcantar; brothers and sisters-in-law, Peppe and Connie Porras, Louis and Ninfa Porras, Antonio and Rosa Porras, all of Texas; brother-in-law / sister-in-law, Cornelis and Janet Vroone of Milton Keynes, England; cousins, Ron and Angie Strothman; several nieces and nephews; special friends Lewis and Liz Hodge, Terry and Deborah Copeland, Leo and Shelia Lugten, Barbara Marine, and a host of other friends. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 10:00 am at The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Interment to follow at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway with Full Military Honors. Online condolences may be made at www.rosemortuary.com.
