Jesusita Urias Obituary
Our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Jesusita T. Urias, went to be with our Lord on Oct 2, 2012 at the age of 88. She was born in Del Rio, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Guadalupe Tijerina, sisters Alicia Castellanos and Dolores Tijerina. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ernesto Urias; children, Irma Urias, Ernest Urias, Jr, Sylvia Urias-Vallejo (Adrian); Grandchildren, Velia Charo (Michael), Ernest Urias III; Great-grandchildren, Michael, Justin, Steven, Aiden, Jesse Joe, and Destinie; Great-great grandchild Elijah; Sisters, Guadalupe Lopez, Consuelo Martinez and Velia Aguilar(Rosendo); Special extended family, David (Laura) and James (Mary) Wheeler, Miranda, Arianna, David Jr and James Jr. Her lack of formal education inspired her to ensure that her children achieve the highest level of education possible. In spite of her lack of English skills, she insisted that English be the household primary language often sacrificing her participation in her children's conversations. At times her children used this to their advantage and she knew this but her unselfishness reminded her of her dream for her children.
Mommy, God has called you home, we are broken hearted on earth, but heaven has welcomed you there. We can never say goodbye to you, because we could never bear the pain. Instead we say I love you Mom until we meet again.
The viewing will take place on Friday Oct 5, 2012 from 4pm to 9pm with the rosary to be recited at 7pm at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. A mass celebrating her life will take place on Saturday Oct 6, 2012 at St. John Berchman's Catholic Church at 10:00 am, followed by interment at San Fernando II.
