Mr. Jewel Quince Greene, 88, husband of Frances Greene and a resident of Bloxom, VA, passed away at his residence on Sunday, November 21, 2010. Born on August 20, 1922 in Norman, OK, he was the son of John Quincey Greene and Pearl Jarmon Greene. He was retired from NASA as a Telemetry Supervisor, member of St. Thomas United Methodist Church and served his country in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Greene was active in his community, including serving on the board of the Community Services Board, ARC of the Eastern Shore for many years, and was active at Occohannock on the Bay and the Seabay Metompkin Ruritan Club. Other than his wife, survivors include four daughters, Eileen Schleif and husband Eric of Greenbush, VA, Anita Satterwhite and husband Brian of Bloxom, Eve Anna Greene of Bloxom and Betty Hrubes and husband Steve of Painter, VA; foster daughter Brenda Custis and husband Ned of Glen Allen, VA; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Other than his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Valouch. There will be a visitation at the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM.
