(nee Castle) Died peacefully on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025, age 90. Married since age 17 to her prince Joseph P. Olla, who preceded her in death in 2015. Loving mother of Cheryl Olla-Thorson, Char (Matt) Feldhusen, Kathy (John) Santini, Stephanie Dahl, Maria (Tom) Robinette, Danny (Sara) and Joey (Martha) Olla. Beloved “Nani” of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jewel was born in Minneapolis and raised in Washburn, Wisconsin. Jewel and Joe raised their children on the East Side and Whitefish Bay. They built their dream vacation home in Mexico. Along with traveling, she enjoyed sewing, painting, and crafting. Jewel had a sunny disposition and her smile lit up the room. It was a guarantee that she would remember your name! She will be greatly missed by everyone she met.
The family wishes to thank everyone at the Milwaukee Catholic Home and Columbia St. Mary’s for their kind and compassionate care.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 9:30AM to 11:00AM at the Milwaukee Catholic Home—St. Anne Chapel, 2462 N. Prospect Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53211, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM. Jewel will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery with her husband at a later date.
Memorials in Jewel’s name can be made to the Sojourner Family Peace Center.
