As a child, I remember all the family gatherings at the lake and Arney and Uncle Jewel shooting off Roman Candles together. When we visited Uncle Jewel's home, he always wanted Arney to play us a song on the piano. He was so proud and we were glad to listen. When my grandpa passed away, it was to Uncle Jewel's we gathered. Uncle Jewel was always a pillar in our family. As a child I remember my daddy speaking so often and so kindly of Jewel as they worked together at Greenville Textile Supply Company. My daddy's name was Buddy Carter and he died in 1985. My husband,Jack Tucker, also worked at GTS during summers and remembers Jewel as such a nice guy. Our deepest sympathies to all,
