Always sad to hear of the death of a friend and teacher. Many years have passed since seeing him but the leadership and strength he showed has remained with those he touched. His love for family was one thing that stood out to us.

I played basketball for "Papa Jim" at Hogansville High School. My brother Bob played football for him as well. We both admired and respected him for his guidance and great strength. We had a small girls basketball team and more than once he had us to his home for a cookout with Mary and the girls. It is seldom someone passes through your life who instills motivation in such a caring manner. I know he will be missed by all the lives he has touched. My thoughts and prayers are with his...

Coach Davis helped shape me into the man that I became, which I passed on to my sons. There are many words that could be said about the Coach, but all that come to mind are: Thank you, and R.I.P.

I met Jim briefly after moving to Greystone as his neighbor. He was exercising his dog in front of my home as I moved in. We chatted for two hours in delightful conversation. I had a small time with him yet know he was an exceptional person and friend to many. My condolences to his wife and family. Sincerely, Cindy Steinmann

We are so sorry to hear of Mr. Davis' passing, but delighted that he is with his Lord. We remember his gentle sense of humor and warm smile from his and Miss Mary's days at University Church. May your family know deeply the reality of the resurrection.

Coach Davis will be missed. I was on the Hogansville High School football team from 1960 - 1964. I admired him greatly then, and think of him often now. My prayers are with his family.

I had the opportunity to meet Jim on a few family occasions. My son, Justin is his granddaughter Caroline's husband. Jim was a kind gentleman and treated me graciously everytime we meet. His family will miss him dearly. So glad he was given time to meet his newest great granddaughter, Addison. It will be an important memory in Caroline and Justin's family memories.
