Not sure what to say?

Father Jim Farrel was one of those special people one meets in life. He often came to me for help in finding building materials for his projects in North Portland. He always had a good word to say and left me a better person with each interaction. My deepest sympathy to the family and all of his community.

He was a wonderful man of good virtues. He truly was blessed and walked in Jesus’ foot steps. He has changed many lives. Fr Jim was a man of love and prayer, who will be dearly missed by us all. Our deepest sympathy to the Farrell family, and I thank you for sharing him with us all.

Uncle Jim, Please give Mom,John D. And Dad a big hug for me. We miss all of you very much! This poem was given to me when either Mom or Dad left us and I'm not sure who to thank for it-but it sure says everything I feel.

"Irish Funeral Prayer"
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be.
So He put his arms around you and whispered "come to me."
With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away.
Although we loved you...

Family of Father Farrell--please know that Father Jim will be greatly missed by all- nobody gave better missions! Heaven is getting one heck of a priest!!! Thanks so much for letting us outside your family get the chance to experience him at his finest! Rest in Peace Good Friend and keep watch over us left behind until we meet again.

I extend my deepest sympathies to the entire Farrell family. Father Jim was a very dear friend of mine and my family. He will be greatly missed.

Father Jim Farrell. What can I say! What a sunny disposition! Always smiling and greeting me by my first name. It was like a visit from home when he would arrive at the Redemptorist seminary in Oakland, California, where I studied for several years. A man for all seasons! Rest in peace, my friend.

My prayers and condolences to the Farrell Family.
Like many others who knew Father Jim, he was more then our parish priest he was a member of our family and touched each one of us in a special way in our lives, always loving and truly caring about how and what you were doing. I thank God for letting us share in a part of his life and will miss him. Heaven is truly getting an angel.
God Bless.

Farrell Family, such sadness is when such a wonderful passes on. He was an inspriation to all who knew him.

Father Jim was a great man and priest who always had the time for whomever needed it. He is the cousin of my mother and had a hand in many of my brothers' and sisters' weddings, including my own. He also officiated at my father's funeral and helped us all with his compassion and sense of humor through a very difficult time. I will always remember that great smile and his many many jokes that he shared both at mass and in our home. He is truly one of a kind and remembered by many as a great...
