Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to hear this. JImmy Johnson was a friend from 1986 until 2024. We were honored to attend his 80th Birthday Party in SF. My huband Michael Schwinn was a room mate for a while and worked on several of his building. I am sorry that we just found out about his passing.

I lived at Rhode Island Manor, below Jim, from 2007 to 2009. He was truly an enigmatic figure. What a fascinating life he must have led! I have a photo of the cover of one of his travel albums, and I'm sure he's still out there exploring.

Jim was a wonderful, caring person who lived life to the fullest. He and my late Uncle Gene loved each other and lived many wonderful years together at their Rhode Island Drive home in San Francisco. One thing you can say about Jim is that he was never dull and loved cruises! Sending positive thoughts to Jim and all his family and friends at this time. Remember Love never dies, it is eternal. Jim, you were loved. Love, Kathy and John Burnett Chambersburg, PA

Jim was my stat teacher in college. He made the course interesting and used his own book as the text book. Great sens of humor and a great teacher still remembered after 50 years.

I first met Jim in Berkeley, CA. I was a student at UCB and he had just come from Missouri to work at Atlas Powder in 1957. He lived in an apt above that I shared with another student. Jim was the most "FUN" person I have ever known. Coming from a Southern Baptist background, he really came out in the San Francisco Bay Area. He would go to bars in the City and come home at 2-3 AM to play Baptist hymns on his piano! He will be sorely missed!

Jimmy was bigger than life. I remember the first time I met him. My Aunt Mart, who adored him, was in the hospital having surgery. In walked this gentle soul that marched to the beat of his own drum. We immediately hit it off and chatted for the longest time. Our running joke was about our collection of big balls. I was blessed with spending a few hours with him at my brother-in-law's birthday a few years ago too. Always a loving soul. Thank you Stephanie Almeida for keeping me in the...

My cousin, my friend and mentor. Jim is one of a kind. Telling outrageous jokes and telling long stories in his next existence. He was my favorite family member. Will think of him often and recall how he always made me laugh.
