I recall a smiling face and great personality from the great tight end who also became a star with the Miami Dolphins. I was working in those days as an advisor to Steve Owens, the Heisman winner at Oklahoma and Miami, OK hometown friend. It was the post season of college football in 1969 and Jim was one of the star...

Missed but never forgotten. Love ya man

Dear Jim,
Being from Youngstown, Ohio and having lived in Miami from 1996-2005, I really enjoyed listening to you. I moved to NC in 2005, and listening to you was one of the things I missed the most. I return to Miami regularly for business and have been searching for your voice on QAM during every trip. It was not until today, August 20th, that I realized the news of your passing. I know you are missed. I also know that wherever you are, the party just got a lot better. I'll pray for...

Jim,
I am really sorry for your family and friends who will miss you dearly.
I will never forget the fun we had for a few years in the early 70's. Life was wonderful and you made it so much better. I still cherish a little box of letters and postcards you sent me from all over the world when you went on your U.S.O. tour. My parents were thrilled to meet you, especially my dad! You are such a great guy!!! Heaven is lucky to have you.
