Jimmy,
Very sorry to learn of Big Jim's passing. He was one of the Giants that made growing up in Lexington so amazing. Our prayers are with you and your family.

Jimmy, Ginny and Sarah, I am so sorry for the loss of your dad and I am so sorry that I will be unable to attend his memorial service because I am out of town. I have so many special memories of Mr Phillips. He was one of a few that was allowed to call me Cindy Lou in my adult years. He will always hold a special place in my heart as will your family. I will continue to keep you all in my prayers.

It was great growing up in Western Heights because of neighbors like Jim Phillips. He kept his eye on us kids, welcomed us and always had a kind or encouraging word. I guess I remember his smile most; he was someone you felt good to be around. And he was a friend to my dad, always asking about him, which I appreciated. We are all better for people like Jim.

So sorry to hear about the loss of Jim. He was always such a pleasure to talk to and had so much knowledge to share.

A Prince of a fellow. Jim lived his life serving others. We were so fortunate to have known him.

It was a pleasure being in a Bible study with Jim for a few years. He was a gracious and gentle soul. He always had a smile and a good word for all. He loved his family and always praised them. We will miss you at Bible study.

Jim was such an inspiration to me when I drove a school bus for the Lexington City Schools. His dedication to ensure the safety of school children all over Davidson County was exemplar. Please accept my sincere condolences, and may God be with you all, and give you strength.
