Jim Schemmel

Jim was born on December 21, 1937 and passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019. Jim was a resident of Mount Vernon, Iowa at the time of passing. He attended high school in Ohio and college at Dayton University. His memory was phenomenal, and he could recite dates and details of much of his life experiences and time in the Army in Korea. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2019, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mount Vernon, by Reverend Stephen Page. Visitation: 10 a.m. with a Vigil Service beginning at 10:30 prior to the mass at the church. Burial: St. John's Cemetery, Lisbon, at a later date. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mount Vernon.
