Smothers, Jim, Jr., passed away, Friday, August 27, 2021.


Beloved father of Acie Smothers and Madison Borchert; dearest grandfather of Prince Max; loving son of Vickie (Wayne) Stewart; dear brother of Shannon (Jeffrey) Rawson and the late Jason Smothers; special friend of Lisa Mossotti, Donna Wiechman, Dennis McMullin, Bob Yarnell, Mike Stocker and Stephen Snipes; our dear uncle, cousin and friend of many.


Jim was the owner and chief instructor at USA Martial Arts Academy in Eureka, Missouri. He dedicated his life to martial arts and teaching people. He was an expert in building strength, self confidence and self control. He has touched the lives of so many who will always carry a little piece of him in their heart.

I was there the day Jim earned his black belt. He was one of my instructors when I was a black belt. His dedication and integrity were amazing. I'm grateful to have known him.

Wow Jim and I attended high school together and Studied at Black Belt Ballwin Plaza back in the day. I remember being in Fitness class with him and we had a test running around the track. I think it was 4 laps in a certain amount of time would earn you an A for that test. Well I decided to TRY and hang with Jim cause he had a great pace.
