Not sure what to say?

A popular disc jockey on Coolidge station, KCKY,in the late 1950's. Along side of Waylon Jennings, at the time, and Jim Garchow.

I grew up listening to Jim Spero on KRUX then later on KUPD with Paul B Munt. I was in the Air Force stationed in Turkey and heard Paul B Munt Jr on Armed Forces Radio Network. Later Jim Spero had a late night TV show ala Johnny Carson. He was ahead of his time on radio God Bless

Jim you were amazing to listen to on Phoenix radio airwaves when I was a young boy in the 70's. Thanks for all you did Sir and may you always Rest In Peace. Condolences to all your Family.

I´m just now finding this obit notice ... but, in tribute to Jim Spero ... i owe my now almost 50 years in radio to Jim. Don´t think we ever met, but in my early teens, growing up in Phoenix, I frequently rode my bicycle from 24th Street & Central Avenue, just north of Thomas to sit outside the window of the radio station in a bank building across of Central Park (the out door mall in the 1950-60s) a watched Jim play music (wasn´t Top 40s ... don´t remember what is was called back then, but...

A good man, and helpful to me in radio.

I grew up with Jim on my dads car radio on PHOENIX RADIO KUPD AM and KXIV ,he also had some stints at SF Radio stations , he was an exceptional personality. Who followed. In the valley of radio. Stars Steve Allen, Joe Pyne and Red Mclvane .

In 1962, at the tender age of nine, I listened to Jim Spero, and Paul B. Mont [or was it Beaumont?] every morning on my clock radio. Needless to say, I was VERY mature for my age, and I got many of the jokes and innuendos heard on that great show. Jim and Paul on radio, along with Wallace and Ladmo on TV, made me the very cool cat that I am now. RIP, Jim. RIP. You are, and always will be one of my heroes.

God bless Gail. Jim was a great guy. He got me into Radio in the 80's, & was a mentor.
Recently re-connected when we found we were near neighbors.
