Not sure what to say?

I was a founding board member of the Pennsylvania Coalition on Food and Nutrition. I had long lost touch with Jim, and grieves me to learn of his passing. He was a fierce an advocate as you could ever hope to meet.

I met Jim in 1981 when I took over the PA WIC program. He was a highly effective and dedicated advocate who was in no small way responsible for the emergence of PA's program from a troubled program to a national best practice. He was always looking, acting, advocating, advising and delivering. Many Pennsylvanians who never knew or will hear of Jim, owe him a sincere debt of gratitude.

God bless his soul, memory and loved ones.

Pennsylvania has not been the same since Jim moved south and now North Carolina will never be the same. His efforts were always appreciated here. A great man. Our sympathy to Sally and their families.

So sad--way too young with so much more to give to this world.

Peter and I have happy memories of our times with Jim when he was in Harrisburg. Our condolences to Sally.

Jim and I worked together frequently when he was heading up the Pennsylvania Coalition on Food and Nutrition and I worked in the Sate Department of Education's Division of Food and Nutrition. He was an admirable man with worthy pursuits.
