Jimmie was one of the first people I met in Texarkana when I moved here over 35 years ago. He was one of the kindest, most positive people I have ever known. I miss seeing in the UC when i come to work in the mornings. He was a blessing to everyone he met.

I will say that Jimmie was a kind and good person. I knew him through my many years at Texas A & M Texarkana, but I knew him when it was East Texas State University. I came to think of him as a friend and we would chat and share our thoughts about the day and what was going on. I could count on him. He was one of the bright spots for me. My thoughts are with his family on this huge loss. Dr. Tommie Hughes

Jimmy was the happiest person I think I have ever known. No matter what was happening he was happy. He loved his family and his job. I remember when he told me years ago that he bought his daughter a puppy. Then a few years later I asked him “How’s the puppy?”, he looked at me and said “He’s a DOG now Ms. V.” We both laughed. You were blessed to have him in your family and I was blessed to have known him.

Mr. Jimmie was always one of my favorite people of TAMUT. When meeting him in the hall and asking “how’re you doing,” he’d always reply with “same ole two-step, it don’t ever stop.” Going forward, that will always stick with me and be my motto. Just the day before passing, Mr. Jimmie sat in my office and told a story about him “playing around” with salesman who’d call and want his credit card information. Being the jokester he was, he’d tell them his name was “Puddin’” while holding back his...
