Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Jimmie's passing today. My husband and I met Jimmie and Emil on a trip to the Canadian Rockies around 1978. We exchanged letters and family news every year since then (around the Jewish New Year) ... right up to last year. It has been our honor to have known both Jimmie and Emil. May their memories be for a blessing.

My wife Wendy Peck and I, and my father in law (Arthur Peck), got to know Jimmie well when we spent time with Irv and Jimmie during our annual visits to Belgrade Lakes, Maine and Long Boat Key, Florida. Jimmie was a warm, caring and interested person who engaged everyone in the room. We will miss her.

I worked at Parisian Eastwood and then went to the Corporate office. The Hess family was a wonderful family to work with and to know. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your all.Melissa Jennings Estes

My collegiate experience was made so much easier with the help of the Hess-Abroms Scholarship I received through her efforts with the UAB Honors Program. I'm forever thankful to her and her family.

My deepest sympathy to the wonderful family of Jimmie Hess. I was very proud to be her first cousin. She was a wonderful example of all that was right. I remember the fun times visiting her in D.C. when we were both very young. I loved you and I loved your parents Sylvia and Sidney.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

It is a cold day in Pittsburgh, made somewhat warmer through the memories of my mother's dear cousin, Jimmie. We join all in celebrating Jimmie's long and purposeful life. Her spirit lives through her family and her good works.
All love.

My husband, John, and I were so sorry to learn of Jimmie's unexpected death. We came to know her through my husband's uncle, Irving Sachs, and enjoyed every occasion we had in her intelligent and caring company. Our sincere condolences to your family. Judge Marsha M. and Mr. John A. Beckelman

What the article about Mrs. Hess left out was the reminder of her ready smile, the warmth of her heart that absolutely beamed from her. She was always, always a generous, loving spirit to everyone whether you were a close friend or just an acquaintance. Oh, that there were more such sweet spirits walking among us. Jesse Bates
