Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Maminta, Jimmie Mendoza, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at the age of 75.

Beloved Husband of thirty-nine years to Josenellie "Jonel" (Bautista); Father of Ammie (Mark) Maminta-McSwain, Andrew (Rebecca) Maminta, and Jocelyn (Charles) Maminta; Grandfather of Bret McSwain, Tegan Jonel Maminta-McSwain, and the late Finnley James Maminta-McSwain; Dear Brother, Brother-In-Law, Uncle, Great-Uncle, Cousin, Neighbor, Co-Worker, and Friend to many.

Jimmie was born in Mindoro, Philippines on November 2, 1946. Son of Joaquin “Mike” Maminta and Rebecca Mendoza Maminta. He was the eldest of 5, followed by Donald, Ethel, Heidi, and Ernie. He graduated from MCU in 1970 with a B.S. in Medical Technology; that same year with the help of his Uncle, Dr. Napolean Maminta and with a hospital sponsorship, he immigrated to the U.S. landing in St. Louis, MO with nothing but a suitcase and $100. He was incredibly dedicated to providing for his family. He worked at St. Louis County Department of Health (previously County Hospital) for 28 years, at St. Mary’s Hospital for over 30 years, at St. Anthony’s among several others, and was also a clinical lab director at Midwest Innovation Lab for over 25 years providing consultation post "retirement." He made several connections throughout his tenure and cherished the friendships he gathered along the way. He met Josenellie (Jonel) in 1982 and married in 1983. He cared immensely for his three children and grandchildren. Lolo being the title he cherished most. He was incredibly thoughtful, caring and selfless. He enjoyed his passion for cars and poker, meeting regularly with his Miata club or poker groups. Jimmie was celebrating 39 years of marriage with Jonel and his love of poker just prior to his sudden demise in Las Vegas. He enjoyed life to the fullest, taking time to travel and gather with friends and family and will be sorely missed.

Services: Visitation will be at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Friday, May 6, 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at Holy Infant Catholic Church, Ballwin, Saturday, May 7, 9:00 a.m. followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
