Jimmie Lynn McElwain, 67, a resident of Burden, Kansas, passed Friday, October 9, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. He was born on February 8, 1948 in Independence, Kansas. He was the son of John D. and Wanda A. McElwain. He was the devoted husband of Elaine (Baumgartel) McElwain for 44 years. He married his lovely bride in 1971. He adored his wife, children and grandchildren and most recently his great grandchildren. Jim served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Skagit; AKA-105 (Attack Cargo Ship). He was a certified welder and ironworker for over 30 years and once retired he operated his automotive business with his wife. Jim took great pride in his children and grandchildren. To his family and friends, Jim was a mountain of man with loyalty and integrity that was known for helping people out. He will be deeply missed by all. In addition to his wife, Elaine McElwain, Jim is survived by; Children Tracy and David Rosario (Daughter) of Wichita, Kansas Michelle Hughes (Daughter) of Winfield, Kansas Terry and Julia McElwain (Son) of Murrieta, California Travis and Jennifer McElwain (Son) of Redlands, California James and Karrie McElwain (Son) of Wichita, Kansas Brothers and Sisters: Jean McLaughlin (Sister) of Menifee, California Jan Imler (Sister) of Elden, Missouri Genneth Moon (Sister) of Topeka, Kansas Judy Skipper (Sister) of Whitesburg, Georgia John McElwain (Brother) of Elk City, Kansas Twelve (12) Grandchildren: Timothy Rosario, Nicole Rosario, Jimmie Hughes, Ean Hughes, Jordan Hughes, Svetlana McElwain, Reidar McElwain, Kaiden McElwain, Kaston McElwain, Kolton McElwain, Beau McElwain, Ty McElwain and seven (7) Great Grandchildren: Wynter, Peyton, Railynn Hughes, Javian Rosario, Zemir Witherspoon, Moriah and Eden Rosario. Jim is preceded by his parents (John and Wanda McElwain) and two sisters (Wanda Marie and Twila Loraine McElwain).
