Jim Morinaga

Jimmie was a very large part of our life. My parents owned vern's market. Jimmy cricket is what my mother nicknamed Jimmie was at the store every day? Having coffee with all of the other farmers, he watched me grow up. I remember getting a graduation gift from him. And he also attended my first wedding. He was a very gracious and loving man. Our family will truly miss you.

Sandie's family - The Matthiesens - owned Vern's Market and Jimmie was a regular there, as were the majority of the farmers on the Oregon Slope. We always went out to Jimmie's to get potatoes in the fall. Jimmie would come out to the field and fire up his tractor and dig up a section of a row - always plenty to fill a couple of bags to share with our family. It became a tradition for us and when we moved to Seattle we learned that Jimmie loved Salmon - so when we came home we'd always take...

Jimmy was a wonderful neighbor to our family for many years. He was always there to help ,but you could never reciprocate because he was always ahead. Anytime we took over goodies he was at our door the next day with a pie or candy for the kids. He will be greatly missed.
