Jimmie Don Samuels

Jimmie Don Samuels was born on January 10, 1942 to the late Bessie and Hosea Samuels.  He departed this life on November 14, 2022 at the Medical Center in Franklin. A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11am in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Military Honors will be conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard at graveside. Jimmie was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Franklin, KY.  After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army where he became a First Sergeant Combat Engineer.  He served his country for twenty-one years before retiring.  While he was stationed in German, he met and married Barbel Went Samuels who preceded him in death.  Also preceding him in death  were five brothers – Jerry Samuels, Bobby Samuels, Hosea Samuels, Kenneth Samuels, Richard Samuels and one sister Mary Katherine Samuels. He leaves to cherish his memory is a stepdaughter – Jessica Frazier Mason (Montez) of Bowling Green, KY, two grandchildren – K.J. Carter and Isaiah Mason along with three brothers – William Samuels (Elizabeth) and Leon Samuels all of Franklin and Joseph Samuels (Earlie) of New York and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins
