Jimmy Dale Carroll, age 87, of Bruce departed this life on July 15, 2025, in Boliver Medical Center. Born on July 8, 1938, in Yalobusha County Mississippi, Jimmy was a cherished member of his community, known for his warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter.
Jimmy dedicated a significant part of his life to serving the community through his career with the Calhoun County Maintenance District 3, where his dedication and hard work left a lasting impact. He was a man of many passions, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether he was bird hunting in the woods, fishing in the nearby streams, cutting firewood to keep his family warm, or nurturing his beloved garden, Jimmy embraced each moment with enthusiasm and gratitude.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Ruthie Blaylock Carroll of Bruce, MS, and their son, Paul Carroll of Bruce, MS. He also leaves behind cherished memories with his nephews, Randy Hughes, Kenny "Bud" Hughes, and Jim Stegel as well as his nieces, Ann Callaway, Linda Williamson, Cathy Lee Henderson, Janice Carroll, Sherry Black, and Pam Stegel. Each of them will carry a piece of Jimmy in their hearts, remembering the laughter and love he shared.
A public viewing will be held at Parker Memorial Funeral Home on July 17, 2025, at 10:00 am, where friends and family will gather to honor and celebrate Jimmy's life. Following this, a graveside service will take place at Bruce Cemetery on July 17, 2025, at 11:00 am with Bro. Kevin Chrestman and Bro. Darrell Logan officiating. Kyle Carter, Ronald Carter, Scott Collins, Randy Hughes, Ricky Odom, and Mike Scott will be serving as pallbearers.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents William Howard Carroll and Ada Lee Hitchcock Carroll, sisters, Mary Katherine Hughes, Martha Seigal, brothers, Howard B. Carroll, Sammy Carroll, and niece Lisa Stegel.
Parker Memorial Funeral Home is honored to be of service to the Carroll family during this difficult time of loss.
