Our deepest sympathy to Mrs Dot, Jim and family, for the tragic loss of "Mr. Jimmy". He was a great family friend and always there to help. He gave me my first job at Dixie Food Store bagging groceries on Saturdays. This man leaves a proud legacy to all who knew him, to Natchitoches, Northwestern State, and to Louisiana education in general. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Long family. John and Mari Jabbia

A man who loved his wife Dot, son Jimmy and family became an angel this week. Jimmy Long was a great friend to many, thoughtful, kind, caring, giving and excellent leader in the Legislature and State. He always had the needs of others and his community foremost in his mind and ways. He will be missed. May God be with you and know you are in my prayers.
