Not sure what to say?

Oh wow - I never met the man, Ive only heard of him from the internet, & when I was a member of the OTRR facebook group (among others) He was known as "Jimbo". I had no idea he'd passed on! It's horrible, it is like a library full of important works has burned. Every one of God's creations is unique- no one has an absolute equal, or mirror. What a great loss to this world- and this, coming from a total stranger, and one who did not know him. I cannot imagine the loss felt by those who did.

Friends on the internet tell me that Jimmy Meeks was the fellow old time radio fans knew as Jimbo... a prolific researcher and writer on the history of Broadcasting. I have a PhD in media research and considered him to be brilliant. He eventually specialized in documenting one particular wonderfully offbeat comedy series, Vic and Sade, through his Network of blogs, discussion forums and podcasts, where a growing audience appreciated his own humor.
Condolences to his family and friends.

Jimbo's love of the radio show "Vic and Sade" was contagious. I will greatly miss his enthusiasm and the positive support he provide to me over the past year. It was a pleasure to listen to his recordings and to be his friend. In my mind, he will always be the Exalted Big Dipper!

Jimbo, your friends at the Overnightscape Underground will never forget you. You were incredibly funny and provided a true sense of community to our organization. I hope that other friends and family of yours will find comfort in 600+ audio programs you created or hosted on our podcast network. http://onsug.com/archives/category/jimbo - I hope that we can connect with your family and other friends. We are having several episodes dedicated to celebrating Jim's life.

Jimbo's enthusiasm for old time radio, and his passion for Vic and Sade, led him to seek out other interested people, and encourage them to contribute. In doing so, he brought out talents and abilities they often had no idea they had. I was one of those hesitant contributors who, thanks to Jimbo, learned I could write. I will always be grateful to him, and will miss him. But he also often talked of his faith in Jesus's assurance that those who believe in Him would never die. We'll miss...
