Sorry to hear about Jimmy. My prayers are with the family.

I left Perry 24 years ago, born and raised there I had the pleasure of knowing Jimmy, always had a smile and would give you the shirt off his back. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Family during this sad time.

I don't think there are many people in our community today that know how much this gentle man has meant to the city through the years. In his own quiet way he did his own thing in helping others and in doing things that made our community a better place to live. His service to the city was noted several years ago with a very special presentation but it was just a small token of appreciation from his home town for the many good things he had accomplished. I'm about two weeks older than Jimmy and I remember him as a kind, shy kid who grew up to be a proud father and, after saving a man's life when a ditch caved in on him, a genuine hero. His mechanical gifts showed up early and I remember his father, Uncle Shorty, proudly telling of how Jimmy would tag along with him as he worked at his plumbing business. The memories Jimmy and I shared in our early childhood will be with me forever. He was a loving, gentle and kindhearted man. My deepest sympathy to his family.
